Engineering Technician

NeoCoil LLC is a leader in MRI coils and imaging acessories designed for better patient comfort and experience.  Our focus, through innovation and precision, is to engineer and manufacture the highest quality coils and accessories for the medical industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build, test and troubleshoot prototype circuits and products.
  • Participate in the testing of product concepts and final product units.
  • Build, test and troubleshoot manufacturing fixtures and equipment.
  • Work in teams to solve technical engineering issues.
  • Assemble printed circuit boards.
  • Work closely with engineers to troubleshoot and improve performance of engineering prototype products and accessories.
  • Compile and maintain proper work product and test documentation.
  • Conduct testing of products and accessories in MRI scanners.
  • Participate in the design and development of future products.
  • Adhere to regulatory and quality procedures to ensure safety of products.
  • Communicate progress and results to project engineers and program managers.
  • Must be able to read schematics (RF, analog, digital) and must be able to troubleshoot circuit boards.
  • Since job responsibilities are typically non-repetitive in nature, considerable personal judgment and initiative in resolving problems and making recommendations is essential.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Possess a two year technical degree.

  • Minimum of five years’ related engineering experience.

  • Knowledge of test instrumentation (oscilloscope, DMM, network analyzer, power supplies, function generators, etc.).

  • Previous experience with fine-pitch soldering and ability to pass IPC soldering test.

  • Thorough understanding of hand tools required for assembling electronic components (i.e. soldering iron, pliers, wire strippers).

  • Previous experience with measurement devices (i.e. calipers) and other standard testing devices.

  • Possesses ownership for assigned tasks and is able to organize and manage concurrent engineering activities for multiple projects.

  • MRI experience preferred.Wireless knowledge of 802.11 (WiFi), Bluetooth, and Zigbee.

  • Statistical data analysis experience (e.g. Gauge R&R).

  • Above average computer proficiency in MS Office; Outlook, Excel and Word.
