Technical Designer

To support our growing design division, we are seeking an exempt-level Technical Designer who enjoys contributing to the entire design process – from sketching to the final fit and production. What You’ll Do

At Ashro, our Technical Designers work with Quality Assurance and Merchandising to build a variety of products from concept thru production. Your primary duties will consist of refining a process for standardizing fit of the apparel for our catalog and communicate daily with suppliers and internal team members to regarding product samples, specs, styling, issues, etc…  

You’ll also be responsible for:

• The technical design process from initial development to final fit in specific classifications of product
• Identifying problem items early in the spec development phase so that corrective action can be taken prior to factory issue
• Attending development hand-off meetings and determining all technical design related requirements are addressed for all products
• Relaying information, changes, and feedback from fit sessions to Merchandisers, Suppliers, & internal team members
• Work closely with Quality Assurance team to collaborate on input for TOP issues, Production Issues, and Returns.

 

What It Takes

We need a high-energy, detail-oriented, multi-tasker with a high level of communication skills that will enable them to effectively work with all team members and outside vendors.  This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design or closely related degree with 5 years of experience in Technical Apparel Design. In addition, we are looking for:

• 3+ years of pattern development experience
• Above average organizational skills
• A proficient knowledge of PC-MS Office applications
• Experienced individuals with the ability to work independently &/or with limited supervision
