Development and Volunteer Coordinator

Turning Point, a domestic violence agency located in Woodstock, seeks a full-time Development and Volunteer Coordinator to join its staff.

The position is responsible for volunteer coordination, organizing training workshops and other developmental roles within the agency, including participation in events and solicitation of event donors and sponsors.

The position is 35 hours per week with health & dental benefits, a generous paid time off package, & matching retirement contributions.

Pay range is $27,000 to $30,000 per year.

Supervisory Relationship:
The Development and Volunteer Coordinator reports directly to the Development Manager.

Qualifications:
Excellent written, verbal skills and computer skills
Good interpersonal skills
Experience public speaking
Strong organizational skills
Ability to lift 20 pounds

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, train, and supervise all agency volunteers.
  • Maintain volunteer files to include general information, (emergency contact, days and times available and interested areas of volunteering) and update regularly.
  • Coordinate and supervise groups interested in doing agency projects, including some on evenings and Saturdays or Sundays.
  • Create opportunities for volunteers to participate within the development department and the agency as a whole.
  • Share client and agency needs; ask for in-kind donations individually and from community groups.
  • Coordinate holiday giving programs in October, November and December.
  • Track volunteer hours and information, creating a monthly board report.
  • Prepare and present material needed for the 40-hour domestic violence training as required by ICDVP.
  • Present Turning Point information to select groups in the county, as directed by the Development Manager, to support the mission of the agency and secure donations when appropriate. Assist with solicitation of event donations.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Events Coordinator and Development Manager to help create a cohesive plan for fundraising and event activities.

  1. Staff Meetings
  2. Community Meetings
  3. Volunteer Coordination Meetings
  4. Fundraisers
  • Prepare and pass the ICADV certification within one year of hire.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Development Manager.


About 50 percent of time will be spent on volunteer-related functions, with the remainder being spent on other development department roles.
