What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Provides Catholic pastoral care to patients, their family members and organizational staff .

Responsibilities:
  • Performs pastoral visitation, celebrates Mass, administers the Sacraments, and conducts other Catholic religious rites as needed in assigned areas.
  • Assesses and responds to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement.
  • Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care and patient health.
  • Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.

Qualifications


Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
  • Required Credential(s):
    • Has established a working relationship with a certifying national body or association that maintains professional standards, or has certification through either APC, CASC, NACC, or NAJC within two years of hire date.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Level Degree
    • Bachelor's degree in Theology or Religious Studies required
    • Master's degree preferred

Work Experience:
  • Two or more years of experience in Pastoral Care, the health care field, in an area that is parish-based or mission-related, involved with community activism or equivalent required.
  • 3 Units of Clinical Pastoral Education required, 4 units preferred
