What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Maintains and analyzes cancer incidence data.

Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and analyzes the history, diagnosis, treatment, disease status and survival data of cancer patients treated in the organization.
  • Prepares and electronically submits required reporting information to the state cancer database.
  • Collects data for patient care evaluations, protocol studies and conducting audits.
  • Complies with all reporting requests and requirements.

Qualifications


Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
  • Required Credential(s):
    • Registry Eligible Registrar specializing in Tumors credentialed from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:
  • Associate Degree
    • Associate's degree in healthcare or related field required

Work Experience:
  • One year of experience working in health care environment required, preferably in a cancer registry department.
  • Please see job description. CTR certification and 1-3 yrs abstracting experience in cancer registry department.
  • Days 8 hrs shift
