Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides direct nursing care related to patient admissions in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates pre-admissions/ patient education activities such as patient financial responsibility in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Assesses and communicates with patient based on information obtained during the pre-admission interview and from test results.
• Coordinates testing according to physicians orders.
• Communicates unusual or complex problems to appropriate physicians and staff to assure continuity of care.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention credentialed from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Diploma
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required

Work Experience:

• Three years of experience in mental health and/or addictions working with a variety of client populations preferred.
