Willowbrook, IL (pop. 8,540). The Village of Willowbrook is a non-home rule suburban community located in DuPage County, 22 miles west of downtown Chicago. Village departments include Administration, Police, Finance, and Municipal Services (consisting of Building & Zoning, Planning & Development, Public Works / Water, and Parks & Recreation). Fire, library and sanitary sewer services are provided by other taxing bodies.
The Village of Willowbrook is seeking qualified candidates to fill a full-time Assistant Village Administrator position. The duties of this position include assisting in the planning, managing, directing and reviewing of overall activities and operations of the Village of Willowbrook, as well as special projects; to assist in the coordination of Village activities with other outside agencies and organizations. This role will assist the Village Administrator and department managers through various projects including the information technology, human resources, facility, and communications functions; and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Village Administrator; and responsive, courteous and efficient service to Village residents and the general public. Position performs other duties as assigned and reports directly to the Village Administrator. The Assistant Village Administrator is expected to be results-oriented and technically knowledgeable, a problem-solver with strong management skills. Also important, is a drive for continuous improvement through innovation and optimization of processes and procedures.
The Village is preparing its organization for the future and the Assistant Village Administrator must have a positive, forward thinking perspective. The successful candidate will need to be a collaborative professional with strong management and leadership skills. A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree in public or business administration or related field, or other post-graduate degree, is preferred. Position requires possession of a valid Illinois driver's license. General work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The position is Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) eligible. Residency is not required. The current salary range for this exempt position is $90,039 to $120,087, starting salary DOQ.
