Senior Product Designer

SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER
Reports to Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager


Deublin Company is a leading global manufacturer of Rotating Unions - a mechanical device that allows transfer of pressurized fluid from a stationary source into rotating machinery for heating, cooling or transfer of fluid power. Our modern, air conditioned manufacturing facility utilizes state of the art multi axis machine tools to produce our parts in a lean manufacturing environment.

We are currently seeking a proven Senior Product Designer to perform all duties of a Product Designer and without supervision create complex and custom product design layouts and engineering drawings.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform design assignments from simple to complex using design standards and tools, product knowledge, design expertise, creativity and resourcefulness.
  • Prepare product design layouts and Engineering Drawings in collaboration with Product Engineers.
  • Ensure that designs use current manufacturing, assembly and installation practices, and result in a producible product.
  • Communicate with customers as necessary to obtain information to prepare drawings.
  • Create items and documents in accordance with Deublin Engineering standards in the PLM system (Agile).
  • Write and process Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) as required.
  • Assist Product Engineer with project needs.
  • Perform conventional and geometric tolerance stack-up calculations to insure proper mating of parts.
  • Develop product structures and multi-level Bills of Materials (BOM's) using Deublin Engineering Standards. Enter this information into the PLM system (Agile).
  • Assist in training and mentoring of less-experienced team members.
  • Participate in departmental or cross-functional teams toward the achievement of corporate strategic objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates must have an Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school plus five to seven year's related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 and Inventor is highly desired. Comparable experience with other design software will be considered. Qualified candidates will have the ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry and the ability to convert between imperial and metric measurements. Will have the knowledge, understanding and ability to apply GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and additional ISO and ASME specifications as required. Will have the ability to write procedures, reports and business correspondence. Is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to become proficient in other software tools as needed.
