QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

QUALITY CONTROL Manager
Reports to Director of Global Quality


Position Overview:
The Quality Control Manager performs functions to insure the quality of all of DEUBLIN Company Products is maintained. Promote an atmosphere of integrity, and pride of workmanship. Assure the best possible product is always produced.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates a passion and a responsibility for customer.
  • Experience in quality (system; customer, suppliers and internal) audits.
  • Instruct suppliers, and other departments with product requirements that are either inadequately, or incorrectly addressed on the drawing.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure product supplied meets requirements. Order supplier corrective action when needed.
  • Do and teach root cause problem solving.
  • Inform Engineering on the requirements, capabilities, and limitations inherent in the manufacturing process, and with outside processes.
  • Initiate print changes to correct errors, for ease of manufacturing, and for manufacturing capabilities.
  • Authorize deviations requested by suppliers, and/or other manufacturing arenas.
  • Issue disposition on defective materials.
  • Train, promote, interview, hire, terminate, appraise work, set performance standards and discipline subordinate employees.
  • Responsible for maintenance, repair, calibration, and purchase of inspection equipment, maintenance of inspection records, develop annual budget.
  • Analyze and select suppliers to insure that the best quality product is provided.
  • Team with various other department managers to resolve machine problems, design special gages, reduce manufacturing costs and to establish standards to ensure consistency quality of product.
  • Perform process qualifications and work with manufacturing and engineering to obtain capable processes.
  • Create inspection plans for manufactured and purchased products.
  • Perform any inspection department function.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, groups of managers, and customers.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.


Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
