Assists physicians with performance of invasive cardiac procedures, serving as a radiologic technologist and/or scrub assistant, performing hemodynamic monitoring and procedural charting. Assists in the care, transportation and preparation of patients.

Works with registered nurses with patient care, patient transport, preparation and education of pre- and post-procedure.

Ensures all equipment is prepared to perform procedures.

Utilizes fluoroscopic and digital radiologic equipment to obtain images of vascular anatomy.

Assists and anticipates the needs of the physician regarding instruments, supplies and solutions according to the techniques, procedures, special requirements and patient's needs.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. required

Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as acquired through completion of two years training in an approved school of radiologic technology required.

Successful completion of EKG arrhythmia course preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Licensed in Radiology by the State of Illinois Division of Nuclear Safety (IEMA)

Requires Registry from ARRT

Successful completion of ACLS preferred.

CPR certification required.
