Maintenance Mechanic

PURPOSE:
Set up, operate and maintain the manufacturing of quality product.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS AND JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • The skill and ability to use shop prints, sketches, diagrams, building and machine drawings.
  • Uses normal complement of machine tools and welding equipment pertinent to plant maintenance.
  • Performs mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and simple electrical operations in maintenance of Driv-Lok machine tools, equipment, facilities, and buildings.
  • Must operate lift truck.
  • Is responsible for good housekeeping in assigned area.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of supplies and tools.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or his/her designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years trades training or equivalent, including: shop mathematics, hand book formulas, and the use of a variety of precision measuring instruments.
  • Equivalent of 1-3 years actual maintenance.
  • Must be capable of scheduling work requirements, keeping accurate records and must be a good communicator.
  • Must be flexible in work assignments and be able to work cooperatively as a team member and demonstrate respect and courtesy to all internal and external customers


LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, process sheets, documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have good communication skills.

MATH ABILITY:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with close tolerances.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be flexible in work assignments and be able to work cooperatively as a team member and demonstrate respect and courtesy to all internal and external customers.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Manufacturing software and Database software.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts in a factory environment with noise, oil, and smoke.
