MAINTENANCE WORKER I Refuse Division VILLAGE OF SKOKIE The Village of Skokie is now accepting applications for the position of full time AND on-call Refuse Collector. Works on refuse packer trucks to load garbage from refuse carts via hydraulically controlled tippers and collects staged rubbish and yard waste. Assists with minor maintenance of trucks. Also assists in landscaping and building maintenance projects when not collecting garbage. HS diploma or GED req'd. Must possess valid driver's license. Required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 3 months of hire. Must be in good physical condition and able to work in all outdoor weather conditions. Individuals in this position are subject to random alcohol and drug testing. Starting FT annual salary: $52,764 (40 hrs./wk.). Starting on-call hourly salary $25.37/hr. (as needed).
