MAINTENANCE WORKER (Full Time) Public Works -Water & Sewer Division VILLAGE OF SKOKIE The Village of Skokie is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Worker I in the Water & Sewer division of our Public Works Dept. This position is responsible for repair and maintenance of Village water lines, water mains, inlet tiles, sewer tiles, restrictors & regulators, manholes, and fire hydrants; Operates department equipment including dump truck, Vac-All, jet truck, backhoe, loader, and television truck; Required to work in confined spaces; May assist in Village-wide snow and ice removal efforts; Performs other duties, as required. HS Diploma or equivalent required; Must possess valid Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 90 days of employment; Must be familiar with use of various hand tools; Must be in good physical condition and able to work in all outdoor weather conditions; Maintenance Workers are subject to random alcohol and drug testing; Physical examination, including a drug test, is required prior to employment. The annualized starting salary for this position is $59,068.51.
