Communications Manager (Full-time) VILLAGE OF SKOKIE The Village of Skokie is seeking qualified candidates for the position of full time Communications Manager. This position serves as the Public Information Officer for the Village, communicating the purposes and philosophy of the Village to the community by making effective use of a variety of approaches; Partners with Village Departments to insure consistent and timely content that tells the Village story; Ensures the Village's actions are proactively communicated to the public; Develops positive stories about the Village and releases information in innovative ways; Promotes the Village as a great place to live, work and visit; Oversees Village social media content plan and platforms and creates consistent, positive, and informative content; Monitors social medial analytics to determine successful communication outcomes; Recommends new media and communication platforms; Ensures Village website is current and includes useful, well-organized, and easy to understand information; Monitors relevant social, economic, and political trends and recommends ways to enhance the Village's image, based on those trends; Attends Village Board meetings; Performs other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English, or a closely related field required; Minimum of five years' experience in public relations required; Accreditation by a professional society such as the Public Relations Society of America is desirable, but not required; Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite applications; Valid Driver's License required. The salary range for this position is $81,464 -$103,971. The annualized starting salary range is $81,464 -$89,814 (DOQ).
