We are currently seeking a Sales and Marketing Assistant for our Sellstrom office situated in Schaumburg, Illinois.  This position will perform many tasks independently and handle the day-to-day sales/marketing functions for Sellstrom and occasionally may be asked to participate in projects with our sister company, American Forge and Foundry Ltd., and SureWerx, our parent company in Canada.

The Sales and Marketing Assistant requires extraordinary interpersonal skills, attention to details, superb communication skills and a passion for creativity.  The ideal candidate is excited to work in a fast-paced, growing and dynamic environment where you thrive performing independently, enjoy working on projects and are thrilled to be the ambassador for the US companies. 

Key Responsibilities

Sales:

  • Provide sales team with administrative and sales support
  • Generate reports related to sales activities and sales budgets
  • Assist with document development (customer letters, announcements, etc.)
  • Maintain up-to-date customer information, schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements
  • Provide support to sales functions including telephone inquiries, liaising with customer accounts and marketing, and responding to customer inquiries
  • Provide support in running sales campaigns and any customer events
  • Ensure completion of contracts purchase orders and/or expenditures
  • Provide internal sales support to sales representatives and assist them with achieving assigned sales and business development quotas and goals.
  • Accurate grammar, proof reading documents, catalogs and pricelists
  • General administrative duties and reporting

Marketing:

  • Design, Illustrator, Adobe and Photoshop experience is required 
  • Experience in developing creative layout design for brochures and other promotional material
  • Prepares production for pre-press (pre-flight)
  • Retouching and resizing photographs
  • Updating website (content, images, etc)
  • Creating constant contact templates
  • Updating package design on Illustrator
  • Taking product photos, retouching & resizing photographs
  • Perform administrative work such as preparing correspondence and emails
  • Coordinate all logistics for events, conferences, and tradeshows
  • Assist with the production of catalogues, flyers, promotions
  • Ordering promotional and retail materials as needed
  • Plan trade shows and events, if required
  • Assist with marketing event planning, research, and project management for event/campaign
  • Assist in executing marketing strategies and objectives
  • Assist in proposal writing and presentations
  • Prepare postal and constant contact email marketing campaigns
  • Updating and maintaining the marketing department's documentation and databases
  • Coordinate the booking and scheduling of marketing events
  • Filing
  • Handle specific projects as assigned

Education and Competencies

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible marketing/sales experience;
  • Education in a related field;
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills both Mac and PC platforms
  • Working knowledge of CCS, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator on Mac platform and the MS Office suite of products on PC Platform
  • Experience with generating and creating sales analytics
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Accurate, attention to detail is a must
  • Photography and video skills are a bonus
  • Creative and an overall positive attitude
  • Passionate about marketing/sales and an interest in learning and growing with an organization that values continuous improvement
