We are currently seeking an Inside Sales Representative for our Sellstrom office situated in Schaumburg, Illinois.  This position will perform many tasks independently and in a team environment for Sellstrom and occasionally may be asked to participate in projects with our sister company, American Forge and Foundry Ltd., and SureWerx, our parent company in Canada. 

The ideal candidate will be a talented, enthusiastic and service oriented individual with an ability to multitask, and offer exceptional customer service. The Inside Sales Representative requires extraordinary interpersonal skills and problem solving skills.  The ideal candidate is excited to work in a fast-paced, growing and dynamic environment where you thrive performing independently, enjoy working on projects and are thrilled to be the ambassador for the US companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and treat this responsibility as your number one priority;
  • Work as a team with outside sales account managers, constant communication, sales numbers, orders, questions, daily outside sales schedule, provide a daily update;
  • Field customer calls for the outside account managers;
  • Answering the telephone with providing product information, order status, shipping status, pricing, product availability;
  • Ensure sales desks are staffed at all times in order to provide maximum customer assistance in placing orders, providing product information, proper coding of returns, ensuring appropriate credit approvals, and proper pricing;
  • Processing all sales orders which includes confirming price and availability at time of order, credits, warranty claims, etc, in accordance with company guidelines;
  • Working with the product managers on special pricing for significant product purchases etc.;
  • Directing special quotes to the proper territory;
  • Direct customers to website, if possible, in trying to assist them in finding the part or product which is required;
  • Accumulating and processing back order information, back orders and un-invoiced sales order line items as required;
  • Performed administrative and office duties such as filing, updating customer information, and contributing to general office functioning;
  • Supporting Account Managers when necessary through direct relations with customers & suppliers and handling all key customer/supplier requirements
  • Effective coordination and provision of customer service
  • Ensuring customer delivery expectations are met
  • Handling administrative details, shipping details and informed as to product ETA’s;
  • Research product information using PDF files, product catalogues, etc.
  • Possible promotions (build a promotion for a distributor);
  • Becoming  a business consultant to our distributors

Education and Competencies

  • 1-2 years of progressively responsible  inside sales and/or equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Some travel is required
  • Ability to handle a high volume fast-paced environment;
  • Strong ability to multi-task;
  • Experience working effectively in a high pressure environment;
  • Friendly telephone manner;
  • Creative problem solving
  • Quick on your feet and a logical approach to problem solving;
  • Ability to work well in a team;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work within a dynamic culture and an emphasis on customer service
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
