SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant I, under general supervision, is responsible for coordinating and performing secretarial and administrative assistant duties necessary to insure smooth operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs all general secretarial duties including preparing responses to routine correspondence, composing and typing of memos, letters, reports, contracts, minutes, etc., filing and transcription from written and dictated sources with accuracy and on a timely basis.
- Schedules meetings, makes all pertinent arrangements and prepare and distribute notices, agendas and minutes well in advance of meeting.
- Answers, screens, and routes all incoming calls and/or take appropriate messages. Opens, sorts and prioritizes all incoming mail.
- Establishes and maintains files in a neat and orderly fashion. Makes all corrections or additions to rosters, lists and schedules.
- Maintains calendars, makes appointments and schedules meetings. Make travel arrangements for business/educational trips, meetings, and/or seminars.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
Graduate from high school or equivalent required.
Business school graduate with training in general business/office preferred.
Minimum three years of significant secretarial experience, preferably in a hospital setting is required.
Computer Skills
Experience and knowledge of personal computer, word processing and spreadsheet program required. Accurate typing speed of 70 wpm may be required.
