Senior Auditor

As one of the largest CPA firms in the Chicago metropolitan area, Wolf & Company LLP offers a complete and full range of accounting, tax, and consulting services to our diversified client base that requires tax research, compliance, planning and consultation. The firm has experienced strong and steady growth and is conveniently located in Oakbrook Terrace.

BASIC FUNCTION:
We are looking for a Senior Auditor (Banking and Financial Services) in our Accounting and Auditing Department. Responsibilities include working on banking and financial services audits and reviews of client companies. Opportunities to progress to extend experience to tax, special projects and business planning. Hands-on training from the managers and partners.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES:

  • Plan, execute, direct and complete audits in the banking/financial services industry; manage to budget.
  • Perform quality audit reviews on financial statements and tax related issues.
  • Understand and manage firm risk on audits and proposals.
  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
  • Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met and lead change efforts.
  • Consult, work with and service clients to make recommendations on business and process improvement.
  • Work closely with partners, managers and staff on a team approach.
  • Manage, develop, train and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
  • Attend professional development and training seminars on a regular basis.
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education - Bachelors degree in accounting and CPA required.
  • Experience - 3 -7 years public accounting experience auditing banking/financial
    services clients or 3-7 years banking experience in an internal audit/accounting role.
  • Technical skills - superior analytical, technical and auditing skills including proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS.
  • Communication skills - demonstrated written and verbal. Able to effectively interface with all levels of firm management, staff, clients and outside business contacts.
  • Computer operations - advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, audit preparation software and an understanding of the impact of technology.
  • Independence - ability to work independently without close supervision as well as in a team environment, self-starter.
  • Time management skills - must be able to manage multiple activities and move from project to project quickly and accurately; execute quickly; respond to new and changing requests as firm needs dictate.
