Unitrol Electronics, Inc. in Northbrook Illinois, an internationally recognized manufacturer of high-tech resistance welding controls, is seeking a qualified and motivated electronics technician with experience needed to troubleshoot and repair digital and microcontroller-based boards. The applicant should have the following skills:

• Be a hands-on person
• Good knowledge at component level of digital and analog circuitry
• Read and understand schematic drawings
• Ability to remove and replace SMD components a plus but can train if needed
• Work with production group to have tested boards in place to support production schedules
• Skills to diagnose and repair older circuit boards
• Solder new production boards
• Be able to eventually handle some troubleshooting phone calls with customers
• Communicate to engineers when bugs are found or questionable operation is observed
• Do final testing on finished welding controls prior to shipment
• Assist assemblers with the understanding of electronic assembly drawings
• Design and assemble test stations when needed for testing our products
