Mid - Senior Level Basis Consultant

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Symmetry Mid - Senior Level Basis Consultant is part of a Symmetry Consulting Team, participating in delivering contracted services to a set of Clients. The Basic Consultant performs system monitoring of Client systems, regular system maintenance and performs project work as needed.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or 4-7 years of  equivalent IT experience
  • 3-5 years of IT industry experience
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • 3 or more years of related SAP Basis experience
  • Experience in managing SAP environment changes and upgrades
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and accomplish instructions communicated from the management level to colleague level
  • Demonstrated customer service skills/professional attitude
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Experience with project management concepts
  • Possess a strong desire to constantly improve and develop skillset
  • Demonstrated value-added expertise in specialty areas of SAP technology

 

DUTIES

  • Provide maintenance, problem handling and report preparation activities for clients
  • Perform root cause analysis for clients’ problems and provide accurate documentation to client in a timely and effective manner
  • Accurate and timely time reporting
  • Establish technical knowledge on one or more technical areas outside of SAP ERP products
  • Establish technical knowledge in more than one OS environment
  • Develop knowledge of more than one DB environment
  • Provide recommendations and guidance for the tuning and optimization SAP landscape
  • Manage project deliverables on schedule and accurately
  •  Actively participate in the mentoring process of other consultants
  • Successful creation of client landscapes and client copies
  • Create and maintain RFC connections
  • Contribute as a technical consultant for technical sales
  • Communicate any potential client issue to Senior Basis Consultants or Client Manager
  • Assist fellow Colleagues when problems arise
  • Provide coverage for team accounts
  • Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation
  • Keep informed of current and future Industry Trends
  • Be accountable and responsible for job duties

 

PEOPLE THAT DEPEND ON THE BASIS CONSULTANT

  • Clients –provide clients with system health information, monitoring reports/error analysis/alerting, responsiveness and timely communication, and accurately delivered project work on schedule
  • Client Manager –provide  Client Managers with information on system stability issues, Client politics, Client mood, and project related issues

 

PEOPLE THE BASIS CONSULTANT DEPENDS ON

  • Senior Consultants  – to  provide mentoring direction/expectations, leadership, technical training, be the technical escalation point, and assistance on how to articulate technical ideas to Clients

 

  • Client Manager – to provide mentoring, schedule weekly work, provide feedback (personnel, Clients, projects, scope), assist with weekly communication to Clients, describe how to articulate technical ideas to Clients, and be the contact for Client escalations

 

PERFORMANCE METRICS

The following performance metrics will be reviewed on a quarterly basis:

Assigned Client projects and work delivered accurately and on-time

  • Tracking of Client escalations
  • Tracking of end-of –project surveys/results
  • Tracking of unscheduled production outages

 

Accurate and timely delivery of Client reports, communications and summaries

  • Timeliness of timesheet submittal
  • Accuracy of timesheet recording notes
  • Use of Internal Systems

Client satisfaction/retention

  • End of Year Customer Satisfaction Survey for Basis Complete Clients
  • Client Retention
  • Referenceabale Clients

Complete and up-to-date information in internal systems

  • Internal audit results
  • Handoff documentation provided to Client
  • Appropriate project documentation developed, stored and accessible
  • Updated operation manuals

COMPENSATION

Base Salary: Negotiated, payable semi-monthly
