Senior Human Resources Specialist

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for all human resource activities for the organization including remote branch, domestic and international locations and will assist with administering HR policies across the company.  Specifics include:

  •    Handle activities related to employee relations and industrial relations activities (some union involvement/ collective bargaining)
  •    Administer the employment offers and pre-employment process in coordination with our recruiting staff and branch managers across the United States
  •    Administer wage and salary policy including salary survey and data analysis to  administer a market based  compensation program
  •    Oversee the analysis, maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies to insure compliance including Affirmative Action Program
  •    Good understanding of legal requirements necessary to ensure policies and activities are in compliance with federal and state laws in a multi-state firm
  •    Administer and assist in updating the annual performance review process across the organization
  •    Strong knowledge and background in all employee benefits that will enhance our abilities to offer plans that are competitive and cost effective
  •    Promote a harassment-free environment and a diverse workforce

Qualifications:

  •    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related and 10+ years of broad human resources experience
  •    PHR, SPHR or other HR Certification
  •    Comprehensive experience in employee benefit plans, administration and ability to handle benefit enrollments and issues as they arise
  •    Compensation Administration and Wage and Salary experience for a nationwide firm
  •    Experience in a manufacturing environment
  •    Experience in handling complex employee relations issues
  •    Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple issues simultaneously
  •    Strengths in information gathering, analysis and problem solving 
  •    Demonstrated skills in continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures
  •    Solid experience in promoting development of subordinates’ skills and encouraging growth
  •    Solid knowledge of EEO/OFCCP policy; Able to educate others on the value of diversity
  •    Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  •    Excellent Computer and Technology Skills with the ability to automate and move HR into Electronic Processes where it makes sense
