What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Supervises the daily operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) department.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains and monitors HIM controls and computer systems/environment for the assigned area of the department.
  • Schedules daily assignments and evaluates performance of associates.
  • Submits and monitors quality and quantity of work for assigned areas, performs supervisory functions and provides ongoing training as needed.
  • Interprets policies and procedures for associates to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications


Education:
  • HS or Equivalent
    • High school diploma or equivalent required

Work Experience:
  • Three years of experience working in a medical atmosphere required.
  • AHIMA coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC) credential required. At least 5 years surgical coding experience and at least 3 years supervisory experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office- mostly in Excel (formulas, pivot tables etc.). Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work load.
  • M-F 7:30 - 4 or 8-4:30
