Senior Director Sales Operations

The Senior Director of Sales Operations is responsible for managing a team of professionals driving processes and supporting tools that help the field sale more, faster while driving our Global Trade Management (GTM) strategy. This individual will manage and execute on the global vision for sales tools and sales processes which drive the overall efficiency and effectiveness in their Region. In addition, this individual will work with global sales operations team to design a global sales compensation framework, forecasting methodology, Customer Relation Management (CRM), amongst other process and initiatives. This is a highly strategic role with the ability to make a significant impact on Zebra’s overall sales growth while at the same time maximizing our cost of sales investment. Provide strategy and leadership to the Sales Operations function on a global level.  Provide structure and analysis to ensure pricing, discounting, price concessions, rebates and outside commission programs to meet Company objectives and strategy. Lead the development and implementation of sales compensation programs. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and integrate best practice sales methodologies to institutionalize customer value creation and drive overall go-to-market strategy.
  • Lead the sales vision, business plan development and field execution driven through salesforce.com CRM to ensure sales adoption, improved efficiencies and overall business transparency
  • In coordination with the sales, HR, finance organizations and other key stakeholders, lead the annual sales compensation planning process, including plan performance analysis, and recommendations for changes as needed to support the business strategy.
  • Direct the compensation plan communication strategy and execution through the design, approval, execution, reporting and analysis processes to ensure plans and programs are well understood by the field organization.
  • Support quarterly forecasting process and analytics
  • Support all sales tools
  • Lead various strategic project initiatives as assigned
  • Provide rebate program administration and analysis.
  • Evaluate and implement technology to improve productivity or responsiveness to internal/external customers.
  • Establish and maintain global pricing standards and processes. Ensure deviations from standards meet company strategies, Robinson-Patman standards and company approval authorities.
  • Manage and direct the analysis, calculation, payment and reporting processes for outside commissions, along with ensuring all contractual obligations are met. (CMP, GSA, GPO and other programs)
  • Develop and maintain global point of sales tools and reports that are timely and accurate.
  • Ensure the integrity of customer master data and pricing/discounting structures within Zebra's global systems.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a structure to enable timely analysis of bundling and kitting opportunities.
  • Responsible for selecting, developing and retaining a team that will be able to lead change, build the capabilities of others, and translate the continuous improvement vision into tangible behaviors and results.
  • Drive the sales force informational structure by assuring that all sales reports and automated tools are accurate, user friendly, timely and strategically directional.
  • Create and maintain structures to enable the timely communication of programs and ensure the coordination of activities across multiple geographies and throughout various Zebra functions.
  • Manage the preparation and review of schedules required by external auditors.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics that focus on continuous improvement through timeliness, accuracy and efficiency measures.
  • Ensure transactions meet generally accepted accounting principles and establish and maintain an appropriate system of internal controls
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis for the Sales & Marketing organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Finance/Accounting/Marketing or a related field, MBA strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of directly related progressively responsible experience, inclusive of 5 years of management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates must have a proven track record of success in providing strategic guidance and operational oversight in sales operations for a B:B global technology company.
  • Knowledge of compensation principles and forecast methodologies
  • Ability to communicate the business value and/or ROI of proposed projects with very strong financial/ analytical skills.
  • Self-starter, capable of evaluating business situations and rapidly establishing action plans as needed to ensure maximum business results.
  • Demonstrated success while working within a highly-matrixed environment. Must possess exceptional influencing skills to establish credibility and trust with internal customers and must build influential relationships with partners (i.e. HR, Finance)
  • Deep understanding of GTM and channel analysis, sales methodologies and account/ opportunity planning.
  • Proven ability/experience in conceptualizing, defining and leading large scale projects across a matrix organization to solve business issues, drive growth, and combine long term vision with day to day operational management.
  • Experience in building capabilities which enable a sales organization to significantly improve its overall professionalism, business acumen, efficiency/effectiveness and performance metric reporting capabilities.
  • Must have excellent strategic thinking skills with a strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute.
  • Proven track record of building and managing high performance teams in a high growth, continuous changing environment.
  • Strong PC skills along with an in-depth knowledge of process flows within a fully integrated ERP system
