Shields Township Job Description Shields Township is seeking a part-time Road Representative for our Highway Department not to exceed 20 hours per week. The Road Representative is required to interact frequently with other township departments, committees, contractors, equipment vendors and other municipalities or government agencies. Our representative will need to make contact with the general public and communicate in a professional manner. Background Excellent Customer Service skills. Experience with Government Road Maintenance. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Meet with Township Road vendors for quality assurance and price control. Make sure vendors are properly executing their duties. Addresses residential concerns in a timely manner. Be available in the winter season to inspect the roads on a timely basis. Checks on damage to roads and bridges in the community. Inspects road access. Inspects culverts. Erects and maintains traffic signs. Routinely checks on compliance of safety rules. Oversees Highway Department employees. onthly reporting to the Board of Trustees.
