Summary

This position is primarily responsible to make high quality metal parts from blueprints and the daily setup, sequencing and operation of a CNC Laser and Waterjet Machines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sets up, operates and shutdowns Laser and Waterjet machines.
• Correctly read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications of articles to be constructed, fabricated and/or repaired.
• Stage raw materials at each work-center for the days production.
• Load and unload machines.
• Comply with the production schedule set by management.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufactures machine recommendations.
• Perform some machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
• Facilitate work-order paper flow in accordance with quality standards.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to Supervisor.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Comply with workplace rules and safety regulations.
• Correctly enters job number and quantity numbers on system.
• Completes all paperwork neatly and accurately.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of metal fabrication production processes, methods, materials and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Computer and CNC machine operation experience.
• Proficient in use of calipers, micrometers, measuring tape, and hand grinder.
• Ability to weld and operate a forklift is preferred.
• Knowledge of metal materials and the ability to differentiate between their types, thicknesses, grades and properties.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess and develop own skill set.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand during shift.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

3 plus years of CNC Laser and Waterjet experience.
