SUMMARY

Assists the Administrator in his/her efforts to operate a caring,

Efficient and profitable nursing home. Coordinates and directs the departments of Social Services, Admissions, Activities and Dietary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assumes the responsibility of the operation of the facility in the absence of the
  • administrator.
  • Assists with assuring orderly decision-making processes within the facility.
  • Responsible for the marketing and advertising for the facility.
  • Oversees the Advocacy program for the facility.
  • Coordinates special events and fundraising events for the facility.
  • Involved with the Clinical Review Team.
  • Involved with the Quality Assurance Team, presents Admissions information.
  • Coordinates Department Head birthday lunches, etc.
  • Assists Wellspring Coordinator with the management of the teams and team building.Responsible for data collection regarding admissions.
  • Assist Administrator with annual public health survey.
  • HIPAA Privacy Officer.
  • Admissions back up for tours, contracts, phone calls and inputting of data into computer.
  • Assists designated departments with Quality Improvement development.

  • Adhere to federal and state regulations governing long-term care.
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and adhere to the dress code of the position.
  • Comply with infection control guidelines and follow universal precautions and isolation
  • Must be knowledgeable of fire and safety procedures.
  • Project a positive image when dealing with residents, coworkers, families and the public.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and other departments.
  • Responsible for remaining up to date on all Federal, State and local laws, JCAHO
  • standards or regulatory agency requirements, which apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws and regulations.


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Previous experience in long-term care.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment and make decisions with diplomacy and poise within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Works well with professionals and non-professionals and is able to adjust to the different personalities and styles of corporate management.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment with many interruptions.
  • Excellent verbal, written and organization skills.
  • Good attendance and attitude is essential.
  • Computer background.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of independent judgment.
  • Ability to relate positively with residents, families, coworkers, and the public.
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn about regulations IDPH, state and federal.
  • Maintains nursing home administrator's license.


Computer Skills

Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.

Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
