Rolling Mill Operator

We are currently seeking a Rolling Mill Operator in Itasca, IL manufacturing plant. 

The main objective is to ensure and sustain quality and delivery metrics; listed in order of priority. This candidate must have the ability and knowledge to learn how to effectively utilize and apply the ITW Toolbox and best known methods to the Metals department. The candidate will support copy exact processes, proper internal change control, and encourage positive communication with all co-workers

  • General duties:
    • Must be able to follow all safety guidelines
    • Handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals properly (IPA)
    • Complete Preventive Maintenance on machines
    • Ensure proper Rolling Mill machine set-up
    • Understands importance and follows RFC (Response Flow Checklist)
    • Monitor the quality of produced material
    • Actively participate in weekly stand-up meetings
    • Support Copy Exact processes, 6S, and equipment & process control monitoring systems
    • Identify and notify production lead of process and/or equipment problems
    • Support and adhere to all ISO quality procedures
    • Act as a technical resource during root cause analysis
    • Maintain the proper segregation of rework material
    • Encourage and support systematic External and Internal Change Control Procedures
    • Complete and maintain all process records including process control charts and Preventive Maintenance checklists
    • Consult with team lead on production schedule
    • Cross train on other departmental functions and assist in the cross-training of co-workers
    • Additional duties as assigned
  • Cross-functional duties:
    • All Rolling Milling machines
    • Punch Press setups
    • Punch Presses

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years operator experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to run industrial equipment (Rolling Mills/Punch Presses)
  • Ability to apply basic math skills and computer literate with basic skills in MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and a team orientation
  • Ability to read and interpret work process procedures
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
