Job Description

Job Summary:

Performs clerical/technical duties associated with medical records processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Receives, analyzes, processes and files health information for completeness, timeliness and accuracy.
  • Audits accuracy of electronic and manual entry, and facilitates resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Maintains smooth operational flow by assisting with general clerical duties.
  • May process requests for release of information according to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications


Education:
  • HS or Equivalent
    • High school diploma or equivalent required Graduate of a health information technology program preferred

Work Experience:
  • One year of experience in a clerical setting, medical setting and/or within a health information management department preferred.
  • Entry level HIM position - comfortable with the computer -
  • 7 am-3:30 pm, Monday through Friday - may be required to work some weekends.
