Logistics Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a Logistics/Distribution strategy with particular emphasis on improving efficiencies and producing measurable overall cost reductions.
Provide direction and oversight of customer experience improvements.
Establish direction on information management systems and work effectively with the IT team to improve current logistics and distribution processes and information management systems.
Transportation strategy which will drive top level customer service, lowest delivered cost.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for logistics activities in compliance with all Company policies and local regulatory and governing bodies' rules and regulations (DOT, OSHA).
Plan or implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements.
Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery. Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.
Able to analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
Provide leadership and support for initiatives to enhance supply chain processes, operating costs, inventory productivity, and service.
Oversee and execute supply chain initiatives and strategies that will develop and ensure consistent and efficient flow of product across the supply chain from supplier to customers, and enable best in class service to internal and external customers.
Able to measure staff productivity and implement improvements.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in logistics management, supply chain management, or related field.
10+ years of transportation/warehouse experience within a distribution/logistics retail operations.
Must have expert knowledge of the transportation and warehousing industries including WMS.
Must have knowledge of DOT, and other regulations, as well as existing/pending regulations that affects the transportation industry.
Proven track record of building and managing a high performing team.
Must possess high level of analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
Must be performance driven and be capable of motivating team to meet difficult cost, customer service, quality, safety and inventory compliance goals.
