E-Commerce Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will lead the expansion of Abt's online catalog by recognizing category growth opportunities through analytics and CE expertise. Responsible for developing strong relationships within the distributor network and leading the E-commerce purchasing team in operational efficiency.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze consumer electronics space and select most profitable categories (volume, volume growth, profit margins, etc.).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, and distributors while seeking out new suppliers for growth.
  • Manage vendor performance to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and achieve financial objectives.
  • Perform analysis, competitor comparison, analyze sales trends, and define growth opportunities
  • Increase product offerings through 3rd party fulfillment utilizing expanded assortment, secondary source fulfillment, and new product lines and categories.
  • Negotiate with vendors to ensure profitability, increase efficiency, and ensure product availability, to maximize profitability and surpass margin goals.
  • Provide business-side support during integration with new vendors. Act as liaison between technical resources, set deadlines and manage project integration.
  • Lead purchasing team to increase efficiency, enhance automation and deliver excellent customer service to our customers
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 4+ years experience working with consumer electronics as a buyer/category manager/merchant, distribution experience is a plus.
  • Experienced category manager, with previous retail experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industry trends, assortment planning, customer buying patterns, inventory management, logistics, and marketing techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong influencing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well with multiple team members and cross-functional teams in a fast paced and hands on environment while utilizing excellent time management skills.
