Shift: ****Role is a Registry, Casual position. Shifts as needed will be 7:00am -3:30 pm, a minimum of 6 shifts in a 4 week schedule is required and includes (2) weekend shifts. 1 Winter and 1 Summer holiday required.

What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Director, Manager, or Charge Nurse, performs various patient care activities and related services required to maintain a therapeutic milieu. Provides care to adult and geriatric patients requiring acute, inpatient stabilization.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts patient assessments and assisting patients with establishing treatment goals.
  • Maintains thorough and confidential records of observations.
  • Evaluates progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
  • Provides patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community.
  • Perform safety rounds every 15 minutes
  • Complete and document patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, heart rate, respirations)
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Provide a safe, clean, therapeutic milieu
  • Foster an environment of care and compassion to promote healing
  • Utilize crisis intervention, including verbal de-escalation
  • Function as an integral part of the treatment team
  • Facilitate educational groups and therapeutic activities

Qualifications


Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
  • Required Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Required before provisioning of care.
    • Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention credentialed from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Level Degree, Bachelor degree in behavioral health related field required

Work Experience:
  • One year of experience in behavioral healthcare preferred
