Goal of the Project: To increase awareness of Northern Illinois Food Bank and our hunger relief programs by expanding corporate and community engagement through volunteering, donations, special events and peer-to-peer fundraising. 

Member Activity: Member Activities:

1. Co-manage a portfolio of the Food Bank’s current corporate donors.

a. Research each donor’s charitable giving initiatives.

b. Research each donor’s past giving and relationship to the Food Bank.

c. From the research, develop a strategy to further engage the donor in additional activities, such as volunteering, mobile pantries, food and fund drives, special events, third party promotions or peer-to-peerfundraising.d.Cultivate and steward through meetings, presentations, invitations, grants or proposals for funding.

2. Research the Food Bank’s current food donors and identify prospective donors.

a. Research each donor’s charitable giving initiatives.

b. Research each donor’s past giving and relationship to the Food Bank.

c. From the research, develop a strategy to further engage the donor in additional activities, such as volunteering, mobile pantries, special events, peer-to-peer fundraising or financial donations.

d. Cultivate and steward through meetings, presentations, invitations, grants or proposals for funding.

3. Research the Food Bank’s current corporate volunteers and identify prospective donors.

a. Research each donor’s charitable giving initiatives.

b. Research each donor’s past giving and relationship to the Food Bank.

c. From the research, develop a strategy to further engage the donor in additional activities, such as mobile pantries, special events, food and fund drives, peer-to-peer fundraising or financial contributions.

d. Engage with volunteer groups at the Food Bank to build relationships and establish potential for donations or fundraisers. e.Cultivate and steward through meetings, presentations, invitations, grants or proposals for funding.

4. Identify new corporate prospects not currently engaged with the Food Bank.

a. Research and contact new prospects to ask for a meeting or offer a tour of the Food Bank to share more about our hunger relief programs.

b. Attend networking events and other tabling events, including Chamber of Commerce, non-profit coalitions, etc. to represent the Food Bank, distribute information and find potential new donors and volunteers.

c. Cultivate through meetings, presentations, invitations, grants or proposals for funding.
