TEMPORARY HR Assistant – Part-time

We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working HR professional with a strong focus on customer service and a desire to work for a fast-paced, nonprofit organization. Will support and assist Human Resources team to provide generalist support across the organization. Analytical skills and a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude are must haves.

TEMPORARY HR Assistant – Part-time
Compensation
:  $15-16/hour

In this position, you will be working with the Vice President of Human Resources to ensure the delivery of essential Human Resources services and be a key enabler of our culture and core values. The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing HR administrative support to the business. Responsibilities will include recruitment and selection, benefit enrollment, data entry, day to day HR departmental operations, and policy and procedure administration. The Human Resources Coordinator will

  • Recruiting, including sourcing, screening, posting and coordination with business partners.
  • Process, verify, and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as employee changes, staffing, recruitment, benefits, training, performance evaluations, classifications and DOT eligibility
  • Support new hire orientations and onboarding
  • General office administration including conducting verifications of employment, background checks, pre-employment physical coordination, filing, faxing, copying, scheduling and scanning materials
  • Ensure HR administrative/clerical functions are executed on time and accurately to enhance manager, employee and new hire experience, and maintain reliable data for the HR department
  • Ensure assigned recruitments are completed in a timely manner with the best qualified candidates
  • Ensure benefit enrollment documentation is collected timely
  • Assist in the communication and delivery of Human Resources initiatives, programs, policies and procedures
  • Enter and run general reports in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
  • Provide quality service and delivery to internal and external customers on HR inquiries and requests

Qualifications

  • Related Post-Secondary education; HR focus
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources experience required
  • Experience with recruitment & selection and/or benefit enrollment an asset
  • Experience with recruiting, recruiting in a warehouse distribution center a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic Federal and State employment laws
  • Excellent organizational skills; Gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork.
  • HRIS experience, ADP WorkforceNow preferred
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work.
