REG/CHAPLAIN I - Evanston

Engages in spiritual care of patients/residents, families and staff, including the overseeing of spiritual services for assigned clinical units. Provides professional consultation and assessment of patient/resident care needs, respecting cultural and religious differences. Supports families/friends of the patients/residents and encourages facility staff to provide quality care. Maintains the interdisciplinary functions of the Spiritual Services Department with the facility. Acknowledges the importance of commitment to patients/residents well-being in the performance of duties at Presence Health. Shares responsibility with other personnel for the implementation of Presence Health Values in supporting fellow employees efforts to render quality patient/resident care.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a hospital or health care setting is required. Emotional maturity with an ability to cope with crisis situations and respond appropriately is necessary. Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Bachelors Degree is required; and working towards a graduate degree in theology, divinity, religious studies, pastoral ministry, Two units of accredited Clinical Pastoral Education are required. Must be in good standing with faith community and endorsed by an appropriate denominational authority to function in health care ministry. P astoral studies, or spirituality is desirable.
