Job Description
Job Summary:
Ministers to the spiritual, emotional, psychosocial and cultural needs of patients, family members, and hospital staff.
Responsibilities:
- Performs pastoral visitation, public worship services, and outreach services in assigned areas or to specific faith groups.
- Assesses and responds to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement.
- Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care and patient health.
- Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Level Degree
- Bachelor's degree in theology or religious studies or the equivalent required
- Master's degree preferred
- Completion of 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education Required
Work Experience:
- Experience in pastoral care, health care field, area that is parish-based or mission-related, involved in community activism or its equivalent required.
