What You Will Do

As an Associate with AMITA Health, you will have the opportunity to
Oversees patient safety programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Leads and manages strategy development regarding accreditation attainment, incorporation of best practices, and consistency with regulatory standards and the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Identifies opportunities for patient safety improvement. Leads or participates in development and implementation of initiatives.
  • Designs and implements educational presentations. Communicates evidence-based ideas regarding effective patient safety strategies. Addresses barriers to the implementation of safety programs.
  • Reviews patient safety event reports. Reports to the governing body on the occurrence of known medical and health care errors, identified near misses and dangerous conditions within the facility, as well as actions taken, either proactively or based on occurrences.

What You Will Need

Education:
  • Bachelor's Level Degree
    • Bachelor's degree in a Health Related Discipline required
    • Master's Degree preferred

Work Experience:
  • Three or more years of experience in performance improvement or quality related activities preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in patient safety preferred.
  • Management/clinical experience may be utilized in some instances to meet these requirements.
  • Inpatient, acute care hospital setting required.
