Controller

This position is responsible for supervising, managing, and assisting in the Accounting department's activities including the financial reporting to management, shareholders, and banking regulators. In addition, this position is responsible for the report analysis, forecasting, and reviewing of new systems or products as appropriate.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparation of the annual budget and monthly analysis of budget variances.

Responsible for the data is properly reported to the various regulatory agencies.

Coordinate with and assist the external auditors in the preparation of the annual report.

Working with the regulatory authorities to assist and provide the information needed to complete the annual bank examination.

Oversee Accounting's roll in the payroll process including tax payments and associated accruals.

Review of the investment activity and associated accounting.

Monthly analysis and reporting of balance sheet and income statement activity.

Review of allowance for loan and lease loss policy and activity.

Monitor the financial activity for First American Bank Company to include dividend and cash needs.

Support and assist the other bank departments in the performance of their function as necessary.

Other account monitoring and special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:



A college degree with an extensive knowledge of bank accounting or an accounting degree is required. CPA or MBA a plus.

Ten or more years in banking with an extensive knowledge of regulatory issues and capital requirements. Experience in S Corp accounting a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communications to work with all levels of management, employees, regulators, and other service providers. Strong management skills and assertive presentation. Strong demonstration of analytical skills to assist in evaluation of various financial matters.

Proficient in MS Excel. Knowledge and/or experience working with Lotus Notes, Word, Jack Henry software platform, and various other financial software products strongly preferred.

Occasional local travel for seminars, meetings, conferences as needed.

Scheduled hours are typically 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Additional hours as needed.
