Computer Operator
This hourly non-exempt position is responsible for loading files, running end of day processing and monitoring for errors on the mainframe system and Windows platforms.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor the AS400 server and report any errors.
Run End of Day processing.
Generate and print customer statements and other special forms.
Monitor backups and notify failures to management.
Maintain and update procedures as they change to ensure accuracy.
Update Microsoft patches on branch computers as they become available.
Move File Transfer Protocol (FTP) files to and from the Mainframe. Upload and download files from 3rd party companies.
Effectively perform data entry and report writing activities critical to daily operations of the department.
Document issues in appropriate logs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Degree. Associates Degree in Computer Science degree preferred.
Three to five years of Computer Operator experience preferred.
Experience with the following platforms is preferred: AS/400, Jack Henry software, Microsoft Server, and Linux/Unix a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required to effectively work with co-workers.
Typing skills and previous experience with computer applications including Word, Excel and Microsoft Windows.
This is a third shift position and typical hours are 8:00pm to 4:30am. Occasional weekend hours may be required as workload dictates.
