Contact: Director, Community College Partnerships Search Committee - provost@niu.edu RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Objective: A senior level administrator responsible for leading, initiating and coordinating all NIU partnerships with community college partners throughout the state of Illinois.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitates, promotes, and maintains NIU's strategic plan for the advancement of academic partnerships between the University and community colleges -Facilitates transition from community college academic programs into NIU baccalaureate degree programs in order to encourage the successful acquisition of NIU degrees by transfer students. -Serves as the NIU clearinghouse on all existing and future community college partnerships, -Working in collaboration with NIU programs/Colleges, serves as point of coordination for academic partnership agreements between NIU and community colleges, such as program articulations, transfer agreements, and 2+2 and 3+1-college pathway agreements, -Represents NIU in all potential community college partnership opportunities and coordinates academic program development with internal NIU stakeholders -Cultivates new and supports existing relationships with community college partners, in conjunction with NIU colleges and departments -Coordinates and manages all communications related to the launch and growth of new and existing community college partnership agreements,
  2. Responsible for developing and implementing data gathering methods and systems for tracking and reporting on the success of community college partnerships
  3. Facilitates alignment of community college transfer partnership agreements with IAI, NIU policy, accreditation and academic program requirements, academic admission and program guidelines
  4. Collaborates with NIU stakeholders to maintain standards for prior learning assessment, standardized test acceptance, International credit assessment and military credit assessment.
  5. Stays abreast of trends and research in transfer and articulation in the state and nationally.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.
  7. Reports to the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Academic Affairs

REQUIRED SKILLS

  1. Completion of Master's degree, supplemented by a minimum of 5 years of work experience relevant to development and administration of community college partnerships.
  2. Strong evidence of successfully leading or coordinating community college partnerships agreements.
  3. Prior experience or familiarity with admissions and registration processes and procedures.
  4. Strong familiarity with : -Building and cultivating strategic internal and external partner relationships -Academic program development -Transfer student recruitment -Community College partnerships
  5. Must be proficient using computers and technology, with knowledge of a variety of software programs.
  6. Must have a valid Driver's License, in order to travel as necessary for duties of the position.
  7. Excellent verbal and written skills and an ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  8. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence.
