SUMMARY
The Assistant Director, Nursing assesses, plans, develops, directs, and evaluates patient care activities and personnel in assigned departments. Implements policies and procedures, maintains and improves the level of patient care and standards of care in assigned units, and ensures compliance with established standards and practices and regulatory requirements by all nursing personnel. Functions as the Director of Nursing in the absence of the Director.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employee(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required. Minimum one year of experience required.
Experience in long term care preferred.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Registered Nurse with current Illinois License is required. CPR certification is required.
