This role will serve as the Digital Solutions User Experience Researcher and will be responsible for driving best-in-class cross-platform experiences for our enterprise digital solutions. The successful candidate will leverage usability and user-centered design expertise to help create forward-thinking digital best practices that shape business objectives into user-friendly experiences which exceed the expectations of our customers. This position requires you to utilize your experience/skills to develop research studies to answer key research questions utilizing a range of methodologies, solid project management skills and effectively translate research into actionable insights for your audience. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with user experience designers, research vendors, business and technology partners.

The candidate must be able think strategically and execute efficiently. The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships across the organization while promoting a strong UX Research point of view. Anthem is looking for a driven self-starter, problem solver, and someone that is passionate about creating remarkable digital experiences to join their growing UX Research team.

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

      * Responsible for advocating for research, identifying the appropriate methods for each project, planning and leading research activities to assist the user experience design team in creating best-in-class digital experiences that support the public and secure areas of our web and mobile assets, including product research, sales and complex transactional experiences.
      * Collaborate as an integral member of the digital product management, design and development teams. Work with teams to understand features, content, business and design/experience goals, to define research activities.
      * Ability to think creatively about business problems and identify appropriate research methodologies to address key business needs; while balancing project constraints and timelines to ensure the research provides clear actionable recommendations.
      * Demonstrate understanding of core UX principles, user-centered/usability best practices, and data analysis techniques, including ability to create user workflow schematics.
      * Work to maintain and grow your knowledge within usability and data analysis techniques.
      * Ability to design studies that address both user behavior and attitudes while balancing the use and interpretation of various qualitative and quantitative data to assist in the creation of effective, desirable and easy to use digital user interfaces. This may include surveys, moderated and unmoderated usability testing, card sorts, tree testing, intercept studies, focus groups, ethnographic field studies, A/B testing, data mining, facilitation of focus groups or participatory design sessions.
      * Ability to utilize wireframes, html-mockups, and simple prototypes to test and recommend actionable improvements to our digital experience (including web and mobile devices).
      * Skilled at designing, authoring, and executing test plans as well as evaluating the results for evidence based research and develop actionable recommendations for your audiences.
      * Ability to work across multiple projects and to adapt to change in direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus.
      * Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways for your audiences.
      * Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and problem-solving skills and the ability to present to a variety of audiences.


REQUIRED SKILLS:
      * A minimum of a BA/BS in Human Computer Interactions, Psychology, and Information Sciences, required; MA/MS or PhD.
      * A minimum of 8+ years’ experience in user research/usability, human computer interaction; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
      * Must have experience conducting user research and translating the results into actionable findings for designers, business partners and technical audiences.
      * Experience working on large, complex websites and mobile applications in a virtual environment.
      * Understanding of various development methodologies (waterfall, agile, responsive etc.). Experience with agile/iterative methodologies a plus.
      * Experience with the highly regulated domains (banking, insurance, healthcare) is helpful but not required.
      * Microsoft product suites a must. Basic statistical analysis skills, SPSS/SAS skills are a plus.
      * Experience with tools such as Axure and Adobe product suites, the ability to utilize these tools for prototype updates/creation for usability testing would be beneficial.
