Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Roosevelt University invites nominations and expressions of interest for Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (VP/CFO) for a unique leadership position in a vibrant, dynamic and diverse academic community. Reporting directly to the President and serving as guarantor of fiscal integrity for the University, the VP/CFO is an advocate for the most effective use of fiscal and capital resources to deliver the University's mission and vision. The VP/CFO manages a budget of $115 million and oversees the University's finance and facilities operations. In addition, the VP/CFO is responsible for financial management analysis, strategic short-term and long-range financial and capital planning, institutional business functions, implementing capital projects, physical plant operations and maintenance, property acquisitions and records, purchasing, and contract administration. The Office of Finance, primarily housed in Chicago at the University's downtown campus, includes three associate vice presidents: for Finance, for Budget, and for Campus Planning and Operations. The leadership opportunities for the next VP/ CFO have both a framework and momentum. The new VP/CFO will play an essential role in ensuring streamlined, contemporary, efficient, and effective administrative and operations processes that support the University's core mission of academic quality and student success for undergraduate, Master's and Doctoral students on two distinct campuses and online. The VP/CFO will serve as a leader for change through building consensus, consistency, collaboration, and transparency. The VP/CFO will work closely and partner with the President, Provost & Executive Vice President, Vice Presidents, and Deans to advance the University's overarching strategic goals and initiatives specifically to: -Reconsider financial planning and budgeting models -Enhance operational performance of administrative areas of the office -Enhance the risk management practices of the university Candidates should possess an advanced degree as well as 10 years of demonstrated leadership and line management experience in higher education, the not-for-profit sector and/or business where he or she has led an organization through change. This position requires an experienced leader with a strong track record of accomplishment and collaboration in the strategic management and improvement of institutional operations and functions. A CPA is a preferred qualification, and hands-on knowledge of federal laws and regulations governing higher education financial matters is essential.
