Senior Engineer, Network Ops

United Airlines has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Network Ops in Chicago, IL.  Provide support for the Flight Operations Department in order to monitor, review and provide solutions to operational engineering issues faced in daily operations to maximize safety and efficiency, and ensure company aircraft documentation including Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM), Company Flight Manual (CFM) and Quick Reference Handbook (QRH) are technically accurate, current, and comprehensive. Maintain airport runway and obstacle database for Accuload and Sabre Systems.  Less than 5% travel, to Seattle or other locations for industry meetings, average 1 trip per year.  Must have a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field and 2 years of experience in flight operations engineering or aircraft performance engineering, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field and 5 years of experience in flight operations engineering or aircraft performance engineering. Also must have experience with: Sabre Holdings, Inc. Flight Planning Manager System; SCAP and SCAP parameters, and running SCAP based programs to produce weights for airport analysis, including landing performance; Airbus or Boeing In-Flight Performance Program to produce enroute performance data including driftdown, terrain clearance and depressurization; using ESRI Arc GIS to generate maps, capture, analyze, store and retrieve obstacles related to engine-out aircraft performance problems in compliance with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 121; FAA Advisory Circular 120-27E, Aircraft Weight and Balance Control, specifically related to aircraft weight tracking, operating empty weight build up, and weighing aircraft; Aircraft Performance Data Development to support company flight manual, dispatch and load planning; and working for a commercial passenger airline operating a fleet comprised of both wide-body and single-aisle aircraft.
