General Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Security Secretary is to provide the highest level of administrative support to the Chief of Security at Crossroads Adult Transition Center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Types and designs general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, reports, etc.
  • Create and develop visual presentations utilizing MS Office Suite
  • Schedule and organize meetings, travel, conferences and activities for the Chief of Security
  • Establish, develop, maintain and update filing system.
  • Handle calls, taking messages and fielding answers to routine and non-routine questions.
  • Handle confidential and non-routine information and explains policies when necessary.
  • Serves as backup for the Switchboard Operator when required.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies, including high-level staff of the Illinois Department of Corrections and Safer’s Leadership Team.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Individual has a customer-centered work style
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with MS Office Suite and the internet
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work productively under pressure
  • Skilled in secretarial and office administrative procedures

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in a Business or related discipline
  • 5 years related experience 

 

All positions are Full-Time (40-hours/week) and located in the Chicago Metropolitan area,

unless otherwise specified.
