Security Product Architect

Responsibilities

The Universal Identity Services (UIS) Lead Solutions Architect administers, coordinates, and supervises technical activities relating to systems architecture, and technical approach for interactive business applications systems utilized in the Identity as a Service service offering.
  • Administers, coordinates and recommends the architecture and technical approach for interactive applications
  • Researches, analyzes, and recommends emerging technologies to improve and enhance existing systems
  • Coordinates, plans, organizes and troubleshoots oversees related projects
  • Evaluates existing and newly integrated business systems including software, applications programs, and functional enhancements to ensure high quality services
  • Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and priorities relating to systems and application programming and development.
  • Serves as chief technical expert for the UIS business
  • Provides technical expertise in the emergence and problems related to technology integration.
  • Assists and works with systems developers to integrate architecture and implement new systems
  • Develops and recommends related technical policies and procedures
  • Trains staff, work teams, and users as assigned
  • Maintains current knowledge of technology advancements and system enhancements
  • Ensures business processes provide effective data integrity and efficient systems operations
  • Uses non-traditional approaches to problem-solving
  • Develops and recommends standards, procedures and policies
  • Recommends the system architecture and technical approach in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of current and new applications and business systems
  • Analyzes user needs and develop effective solutions to complex technical deficiencies.
  • Develops and implements short-term and long-term plans and provides data for long-term planning in own division
  • Requires independence and autonomy in decision making within framework of broadly stated policy guidelines precedents, specialized knowledge, and prior research
  • Situations are varied and frequently highly complex
  • Participates in decisions that frequently have major impact across business and technical functions.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, a related field. Experience in lieu of degree can be considered. The candidate is expected to be a lifelong learner that demonstrates a passion for remaining at the leading edge of their craft through self-directed continuing education

Experience:
  • 10-15 years related Security and Identity Management solutions development work experience
  • 5-7 years related management of development teams
  • Expertise with internet architectures and delivery models including cloud computing
  • Expertise with non-traditional client computing devices including PDA's, mobile phones, smart phones, tablet computers, set-top boxes, etc.
  • Expertise with System Development Lifecycle Management methodologies
  • Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis
  • Object-oriented design (OOD) and analysis (OOA)
  • Software modeling and simulation
  • Graphical user interface design
  • Performance tuning, optimization, balancing, usability and automation
  • Support, maintain and document software functionality
  • Integration with existing software and systems
  • Identity and evaluate new technologies
  • Maintain standards compliance
  • Design for security with acute sensitivity to data protection and utilization of Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
  • Experience with Python, C, C++, Java, .NET, Python, BEA WebLogic, WebSphere, J2EE, JBoss, ADO, Perl, HTML, JSP, JavaScript, Web services, SOAP, XML, ASP, JSP, PHP, ZEND, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, UNIX, Linux, Redhat Linux, STL, XSLT, OWL, AJAX, J2EE, J2ME, J2SE, Sun Solaris and CodeIgniter
  • Expertise with Meta Directory, Virtual Directory, Data Warehouses and Distributed Directory systems design
  • Strong interest and experience with Open Standards including IETF, ISO, OASIS, ANSI, NIST, EU Directives, etc.
  • Experience with Oracle and Cassandra is helpful
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to:
    • Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals
    • Document procedures that conform to a prescribed style and format
    • Present information to executive management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
