Sanitation Technician

Currently seeking a Sanitation Worker for our processing floor located in Chicago, IL 60632.  

Work in the Sanitation/Clean-Up department!  Sanitation will work 5 days a week for the early 3rd shift.  Responsible for nightly sanitation of entire Processing Room.  Primary focus being the cleaning and sanitation of all packaging room machinery, equipment and surfaces.  Position requires applicant to be physically capable of standing/walking 100% of shift on concrete flooring.  Must be able to bend/lift up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.  Must be able to work in a cold/wet environment at an average temperature of 34 degrees and perform hard, manual labor for eight hour shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize the following equipment in accordance with allergen free and established cleaning standards to ensure on-time start-ups (1) Packaging machinery equipment, (2) tables, (3) Walls, and (4) Buckets, and (5) Dicing, slicing machinery, etc.
• For all equipment, this includes acquiring chemicals, cleaning and sanitizing the machines, and reporting any mechanical or electrical problems with this equipment to supervision
• Operate the high pressure water system to include: turning on the system, monitoring the host water heater and resetting it when necessary, operating rinse, foam, and sanitizing stations, and ensuring issues are reported to supervisor
• Use necessary cleaning agents and appropriate cleaning equipment
• Maintain inventory of chemicals and sanitation supplies
• Other duties may be assigned
• Chemicals used are bleach (hypochlorite), sanitizer, quat and soap cleaner

Qualified Candidates must possess:

• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to move up to 100 pounds (machines on wheels)
• Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish speaking)
