Receptionist

The American Association of Diabetes Educators is a multi-disciplinary professional membership organization dedicated to improving diabetes care through education. With more than 13,000 members including nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, among others; AADE has a vast network of practitioners involved in the daily treatment of diabetes patients; with national headquarters located in Chicago (convenient Loop location), and a government affairs office in Washington, DC.

AADE currently has an available Receptionist position. The Receptionist is responsible for first impression of AADE with our members, callers and visitors. Coverage of front desk, greeting all visitors, providing information and assistance, and maintaining a professional presentation, appearance and manner is essential. Duties also include day to day Office Administration and Facilities responsibilities; assisting with process improvement, and business efficiencies. Provides administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and other departments as requested.

Position Requirements:

  • Prior administrative/reception experience in a professional office environment required.
  • Previous work history demonstrating experience with customer service and/or office facilities a plus.
  • Must be computer proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point; with ability to learn other applications as needed; keyboard skills 45 wpm.
  • Excellent communication skills required, with ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Must be flexible, able to change priorities and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be detail oriented, and able to see a project through from start to completion.
  • High school diploma required; relevant college courses a plus.
