QA Technician

ENTRY LEVEL QA TECHNICIAN

Job Description Summary:
QA Technician is responsible for identifying and resolving quality issues with operation and working with Management. Ensure that the quality of all products produced within the production facility is done in a safe manner. Need to be familiar with HACCP, GMP and MS Office Software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work standing or walking for most of the shift
  • Check that all products are washed, cut, and processed properly
  • Perform physical duties, including but not limited to: pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, and walking
  • Calibrate test equipment such as scales, thermometers, metal detector, pH meter and colorimeter
  • Check the concentrations of the chemicals and sanitizers
  • Daily Pre-operational inspections and Pre-op ATP testing
  • Check finished product from previous date for any defects
  • Schedule and execute sample submittals to external laboratory vendor
  • Assist in training employees on Food Safety, company processes and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities
  • Maintain organized inventory of retained products
  • Monitor HACCP critical control points
  • Maintain a clear understanding of customer requirements
  • Adherence to all customer Quality policies and procedures as stated in the customer’s manuals
  • Adhere to all regulatory rules and regulations, ensuring that Food Safety and product performance standards are met
  • Perform raw material inspections and follow the corrective actions based on the outcome of the inspection
  • Check Free Chlorine levels during washing step, Temperature, Product Specification and finished product labels.
  • Conduct Shelf Life studies for the finished products

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year quality experience in a fresh food manufacturing environment, knowledge of FDA, and Experience with 3rd party food safety audits
  • Food Safety Skills: GMP’s, HACCP, CCP
  • Must be flexible to work different shifts
