Medical Device Product Specialist, Lower Extremity

 

FIELD MARKETING MANAGER, LOWER EXTREMITY Medical Device

Provide technical and clinical support for FH ORTHO lower extremity franchise to surgeons, sales representatives, and principal agents.  The Field Marketing Manager will be responsible for organizing relevant training events as well as supporting the field sales organization’s goal of establishing and advancing the lower extremity business in the US.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of current and classic concepts in orthopedics, the assigned product line, and clinical procedures supported by FH Ortho products; be able to articulate and demonstrate these concepts and procedures to healthcare professional customers, sales representatives, and FH Ortho employees. 
  2. Design and execute medical education programs targeted to the sales representative and principal agents. 
    1. Carry out the objectives created for FH Ortho agency representative product and procedure training programs.
    2. Provide input for FH Ortho business partner representative medical education courses and surgical skills lab agendas.
    3. Teach the safe and effective use of FH Ortho products and procedure-specific surgical and non-surgical techniques using FH Ortho instruments.
    4. Teach general orthopedic and medical condition topics including current and classic concepts of pathoanatomy, biomechanics, and pathology classifications related to FH Ortho products and procedures.
    5. Assist in the development of written digital learning materials for the purpose of FH Ortho representative education and training.
  3. Participate in healthcare professional medical education and training programs.
    1. Carry out the objectives created for healthcare professional product and procedure training programs.
    2. Provide input for healthcare professional medical education courses and single day lab agendas.
    3. Teach the safe and effective use of FH Ortho products and procedure-specific surgical and non-surgical techniques using FH Ortho instruments.
    4. Teach general orthopedic and medical condition topics including current and classic concepts of pathoanatomy, biomechanics, and pathology classifications related to FH Ortho products and procedures.
    5. Participate as a liaison with FH Ortho business partners and their representatives to assist with organization and implementation of their local medical education and surgical skills lab training programs.
    6. Assist in the organization and execution of cadaver surgical skills workshops.
    7. Participate in medical society meetings and FH Ortho product exhibits to serve in the role outlined in item 1 of this section.
  4. Assist with reviewing written and digital material developed by FH Ortho to advise on clinical accuracy of these materials.
  5. Assist with research and development of FH Ortho products and procedures.
    1. Assist by providing clinical, technical, and surgical skills advice and services to the product and procedure development process via interaction with Product Management.
    2. Interface with Product Management to provide pertinent design criteria regarding form and function of surgical instruments.
  6. Assist the Customer Service Department to provide clinical and technical support for customers service needs. 
  7. Travel up to 60% of the time.
  8. Position reports to National Sales and Marketing Manager.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the bio-medical sciences or related fields is required. 

3-years of experience in orthopedic sales and/or marketing, with experience in foot and ankle a priority.  

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Ability to teach and develop training materials is necessary.
