IT Manager

The IT Manager will be responsible to manage a small team of IT professionals in the Chicago, IL office.

The position requires an understanding of the application of IT systems to financial models and will require an in depth understanding of the financial world and accounting principles.

The position also requires interfacing with IT functions in other parts of the WVB international organization. He/she will also be responsible to interact with global clients regarding IT and data base issues.

The position reports to the Vice President of Global IT services for WVB.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Desired Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS or CIS or equivalent job experience
  • 5 years of related industry experience in one of the two RDBMS's, either Oracle or SQL Server
  • Knowledge of the installation and patch management process of one or both platforms
  • Comprehensive knowledge of basic Database Administration tasks, installation, backup and recovery, performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Experience working in high availability environments and knowledge of high availability technologies (ex. RAC, Clustering, Always-On Availability Groups, Data Guard)
  • Experience in the support of either base OS platform, Windows Server, UNIX or LINUX
  • Working knowledge of physical data model design
  • Working knowledge of database development as well as shell scripting
  • Working knowledge of the financial world and accounting systems.

About the Oracle DBA:  

  • Provide support of both the Oracle and SQL Server Platforms
  • Lend support in the design of high availability database environments including SAN, OS and DB Engine configuration standards
  • Provide support in database backup and recovery, security, tuning and query optimization.
  • Provide tuning assistance and/or Code Review to development staff in the proper coding of packages, stored procedures, triggers and functions
